Alan Augustine

With heavy hearts and faith in God’s mercy, we announce the passing of Alan R. D. Augustus, who left us at the young age of 23. Though his time with us was brief, his bright spirit touched all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 4711 England Dr., Alexandria, LA 71303, with officiating Pastor Rev. Wille Dunkley. All are welcome to honor his life, offer prayers, and reflect on the peace he has found in God’s kingdom.

He leaves cherished memories with his adoptive father, Melvin Augustus Sr.; birth brother, Alton Augustus; birth sister, Shandale Tolliver; birth uncles, Jerry Lee Kyles Sr. and Boston Kyles; adoptive brothers, Charles Augustus, Melvin Augustus Jr., Alvin Augustus, Jacob Augustus and Jacobie Bell; adoptive sisters, Uceta Augustus-Barolle, Shirley Jackson-Taylor, Kimberly Augustus; and Miracle Stephenson along with a host of beloved family members and close friends. Each holds close the comfort of knowing his soul is forgiven and at peace. He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Benita Kyles, and adoptive mother, Elizabeth Augustus, who are embraced in God’s eternal rest.

As Scripture reminds us, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation 21:4) May Alan’s memory bring comfort and remind us of God’s grace and the promise of eternal rest.
