Alfreda G. Piper

Life Celebration Services for Sister Alfreda Piper are set for Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11 AM at the Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist Church of Boyce, Louisiana (720 Mill Race Road, Boyce, LA). Pastor Joseph W. Franklin will officiate the services. This unique lady, a true vessel of God, was gifted to her parents, the late Arthur Gaines and Daisy Butler Gaines on November 18, 1956 in Boyce, Louisiana. God, in His infinite wisdom, gently transported her from earthly labor to a place of eternal rest on April 18, 2022. Her Creator said, “Amen.” Sister Piper’s Christian journey was of utmost importance in her life. As an adult, she worshipped with her family at the Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, located a stone’s throw from her residence. There, she prayed for a strong relationship with Christ, prayed with and for the members of the church, participated in several ministries, served in the Prison Ministry, and remained a model for what worship should look like. She remained there until God called her to a higher place of praise. Her formal education was accomplished through the public school system of Rapides Parish and she graduated from what was then called A. Wettermark High School. This unforgettable lady entered the Sacrament of Matrimony with the late Crawford Dan Piper, Sr., marking a marital union filled with many pleasant times and yielding the blessing of four children to complete the family’s unit. Her career path led her to the United States Postal Service where her assignment was in the Customer Service area, but her calling was the down-to-earth motherly advice, wise counsel, and encouragement given to people, too numerous to count. She made an impact on her fellowman wherever she interacted! Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Crawford Dan Piper, Sr., one son, Courtney Piper; a sister, Shirley Bellard; a brother, Charles Gaines; a niece, Doris Ann Bellard; a granddaughter, Destinee Piper; and a brother-in-law, Frank Bellard. Left to treasure her legacy of love and enduring friendships are her children: Andre, Crawford, Jr. (Calisha), and Random Piper; siblings, Thertha Gaines Price (Lavon) and Donald Ray Gaines (Emma); a sister-in-law, Pamela Veal Gaines; a special cousin, Patricia Davis; grandchildren, Andrea, Kandanesia, KeAndre, Dasia, Khailya, Derrick, Sarai, Serenity, Martavion, Adriana, and Kaydriana; a great-grandson, Kaisen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
