Bertha Mae Trotter Hamilton

Bertha Mae Trotter Hamilton was born on June 2, 1930 to the late Henry Dale Trotter and Bertha Madison Trotter in Alexandria, Louisiana. Bertha professed her love and belief in Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized at Mount Triumph Baptist Church. On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, she gained her Heavenly wings at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana with her son by her side. Bertha graduated from Peabody High School. She attended Grambling State University and graduated with a Degree in Education. She received her Master’s plus 30 Degree in Education from Northwestern State University. She later met and married the late Floyd Hamilton Jr. and to the union was born a son, Floyd Hamilton III. Bertha worked in the Rapides Parish School System for over 52 years with much of that tenure at Martin Park Elementary School as the Assistant Principal. At Martin Park and in later years selling school uniforms at her store “Bertha’s Boutique” she poured her heart out helping students and parents for multiple generations. She was loved by everyone who had the pleasure to meet her. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Dale Trotter Sr., mother Bertha Trotter, brothers Henry Dale Trotter Jr. and James Roy Trotter, husband Floyd Hamilton Jr., and Daughter-in-Law Nora Dorsey. She leaves to cherish in her memories: a loving son Floyd Hamilton III of Alexandria, LA. two (2) grandchildren Damian Hamilton (Trekesha) of Alexandria, LA and Lee Hamilton of Dallas, TX; four (4) great grandchildren Alexus Hamilton, Zoe Hamilton, Caleigh Hamilton and Isabella Hamilton; a host of nieces & nephews, relatives and friends; two (2) devoted employees, Keith Nash and Jewell Anderson.
