Chester Mae Tucker

A Celebration of Life for Chester Mae Tucker will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Mount Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Colfax, Louisiana at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until the start of service Elder Walter Williams will be Officiating. Interment will be held at Farenzie Baptist Church Cemetery.

Chester Mae Tucker was born February 22, 1943 to Chester Phillips, Sr and Ula Mae Phillips. She was raised in a Christian home. Chester made accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church by Rev. Essie Harris. She later moved her membership to mount Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she served as a faithful usher for many years under the leadership of Elder Walter Williams. She attended Mary E. Graham School. Chester was a dedicated worker in the recreation at Pinecrest State School for 30 years where she retired in February 2001. She married Henry Tucker in 1978.

Chester Mae departed this life on August 14, 2023 at the age of 80. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Henry Tucker; one son, Darren Phillips (Rhonda); three daughters, Janet Brown (Keeway), Dr. Felicia Whipple and Evangeline Green (George); 3 great grandchildren she helped her raise, Khymya Phillips, Khalie Williams, Khymari Berry; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Leonard and Dorothy Coutee and a host of nieces nephews other family members and friends.
