OBITUARY

Clifton Joseph "T-Joe" Fontenot Jr was born on July 6, 1932 to Clifton Joseph Fontenot Sr and Corine Lavalais Fontenot in Mansura, Louisiana. He was the oldest of seven children born to this union. T-Joe was baptized into the Catholic Faith as an infant and remained with the Church for his entire life.

On January 2, 1954, T-Joe was united in holy matrimony to Josephine Augustine. To this union six children were born.

T-Joe is preceded in death by his parents Clifton Fontenot Sr and Corine Fontenot; one brother, Donald Fontenot and three sisters, Elizabeth Wright, Joann McGhee and Mary Morrow.

Carpentry was his gift, with cabinets and woodworking as his specialty. He could build almost any type of cabinet just by looking at a picture. He designed and built furniture from scratch and when finished it was something to be displayed proudly. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a great cook. He loved chicken wings and white beans.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Josephine Fontenot, two sons James (Mary) Fontenot of Conway Arkansas, Robert (Carrie) Fontenot of Alexandria, Louisiana; four daughters, Mary (Columbus) Smith of Marksville, Louisiana, Bridget (Archie) Wright of Missouri City, Texas, Rose (Lloyd) Rankin of Abbeville, Louisiana and Clara Fontenot (William Gray) of Houston, Texas. He also leaves behind, sixteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Lester (Jacqueline) Fontenot of Cocoville, Louisiana, one sister, Shirley Cadoree of Cocoville, Louisiana and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burden, and I will give you rest." --- Matthew 11:28
