Services for Delia Mae Johnson Carter will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at New Scott Olly Baptist Church, 2627 Willow Glen River Road, Alexandria, LA. Rev. Charles R. Carter Will be officiating. Interment will be in the Alexandria National Cemetery.

Mrs. Carter, 97, of Alexandria, LA, passed away on October 6, 2025, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents: Wallace and Delia Johnson, husband: Joe Carter, son: Donald Carter, grandson: Demetrius Carter, sisters: Bertha, Corean, Isabell, brothers: Henry, William, Napoleon, Thomas, and James.

Delia was married to the lover of her life and to this union 6 children were born. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was a hard and dedicated worker and a firm believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Delia will be affectionately remembered as a beautiful, loving, and kindhearted mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She brought joy and laughter to everyone she knew.

Delia leaves to cherish her memories – daughter: Beverly Carter Reed, sons: Joseph R. Carter, Thomas E. Carter, Charles R. Carter, and Ronald L. Carter, along with 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
