Services for Elisha “Bobby” Hayward will be at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 2nd Edgefield Baptist Church, 1239 Bayou Road, Cheneyville, LA. Rev. Cedric Brown, Pastor and Minister Evelyn Blue will be officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Cheneyville, LA.


Elisha “Bobby” Hayward was born on June 17, 1940, in Bunkie, LA and was sent to his eternal home on July 31, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Elmira and Adolph Hayward. Elisha was a life-long resident of Cheneyville, LA. He was baptized at an early ate at 2nd Edgefield Baptist Church in Cheneyville, LA. Later in life he joined the Deacon Board and served as Chairman of the Deacon Board for many years.

Elisha was employed at J&M Poultry Farm as a forklift operator until the company moved out of state. Afterward he worked as a Security Guard at Westside Habilitation Center until his health began to decline.


Bobby, as he was affectionately known, was married to Mildred Reado for over 65 years. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, hard work, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.


Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, father, four brothers (Jessie Hayward, Joseph Hayward, Arthur Hayward, and Otis Hayward) and five sisters (Gladys Parker, Mercedes Blue, Annie Hayward, Lucy Hayward, and Betty Jones).


He leaves to cherish his memories - his wife Mildred Hayward, three daughters: Shelia Brown (Tommie), Marily Jones (David), and Julie Clark (Bernard), one son Elijah Hayward, one bonus son: Terry Reado, one sister: Blanche Hayward, one bonus sister: Joyce Gale, one brother: Samuel Hayward, nine grandchildren: Dynasty Young, Marquis Baker, Damien Baker, Mariano Brown, Elijah L. Hayward, Brandon D. Hayward, Elijah Antoine, Brandon J. Hayward, and Briana Hutchinson, two sister in laws: Ruby Reado and Katherine Reado, two brother in laws Wilson Reado and Wilbert Jones, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
