Emily Boswell was born on October 16, 1938 in Alexandria, LA to the proud parents of Hayward and Corine Wiggins. She was the 3rd child born to their union. She grew up in a loving home. Emily was baptized at an early age and continued to practice living a Christian life. She attended school at St. James Catholic School in Alexandria, LA where she graduated in May 1956. After high school, she graduated from Straight University Business School in New Orleans, LA. Thereafter, she returned home and worked with her family owned grocery store in Alexandria, LA.
In 1961, Emily met the love of her life. She married Pursie Boswell on
December 29, 1962 and started their family. From their union, five children were born- Reginald, Michelle, Rodney, Kim and Jeffery. Emily was one of the original members of the St. Juliana Love Choir
and the Servants of the Lord Prayer Group. She was a dedicated member of the choir and vibrant leader of the prayer line for many years.
Emily was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She was loved and respected by all. Her legacy of love will be a remembered by all who knew her. Her family and friends were the recipents of God’s love through her. God was the center of her life. She enjoyed cooking and working outdoors which brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Pursie Boswell;
her parents, Hayward and Corine Wiggins;
her two sisters and their spouses, Catherine and Ray Donatto of New Orleans, LA; Arthemise and Percy Greenhouse of Los Angeles, CA.
Emily is survived by her five children- Reginald(Emma) Boswell of Weatherford,TX; Michelle (Van) Hornbuckle of Arlington, TX; Rodney Boswell of Ft. Worth, TX; Kim Boswell of Pineville, LA; and Jeffery Boswell of Ft. Worth, TX;
10 grandchildren- Jyron, Emily Corine (Petra) Letia, Gabriel, Lily (Chris) Mia, Reginald Jr. Ashleigh, Joshua and Jeffery Jr.(JJ)
1 great granddaughter – Carson Elizabeth
1 great grandson – Theodore Pursie
1 great grandbaby soon to be born – Maggie Claire
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her puppy companion Leah.
