Reflection of Life

2 Timothy 4:7-8

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:

On February 7, 2024, Mrs. Evealina Winters Armstong entered eternal rest at The Lexington House in Alexandria, La.

Mrs. Evealina Armstrong was born on July 8, 1939, to Mr. Roy Winters and Mrs. Sallie Starling Winters in Choctaw County of Weir, Mississippi. She submitted her life to Christ at an early age while living in Weir. Later in life Evealina married James Arterberry and moved to Delray Beach, Florida. Of that union four children were created; three sons: Carl Arterberry of McNary, La, David Arterberry of Alexandria, La, Billy W. Arterberry(deceased), and one daughter that passed before birth.

After divorce, Evealina moved herself and her children to Glenmora, La where she began worshipping at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. JB Wilson and Rev. Sherman Sumbler, Jr. She remained a member until her final day of life under the leadership of Pastor Savannah Sumbler. Years passed and in 1976 Evealina finally met the love of her life, Mr. John H Armstrong. The two lovebirds were married in March of 1978, and have remained married, by each other’s side for over 45yrs.

Evealina was such a beloved woman that enjoyed being the amazing wife, mother, and grandmother that she was. She enjoyed working at Gunter’s Egg Farm where she was a very dedicated employee for several years, up until retirement and even some years after. She loved to go fishing and grow foods in her garden. Those fish she caught, and foods grown were often the dishes she prepared for her family and friends at the cookouts in the yard. Surrounded by the love and laughter of her family and friends was one of her favorite ways to spend her free time.

Evealina was preceded in death by her daughter Evealina T. Arterberry, her son Billy W. Arterberry, her parents Roy and Sallie Winters, 4 sisters: Gussie Edwards, Grace Miller, Gertrude Fair, Versie Loggins, 5 brothers: JB Winters, Andrew Winters, Roy Winters Jr., James Winters, and George Winters.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Her devoted Husband Johnny Armstrong, Her sons, Carl Arterberry and David Arterberry, her special daughter in love Christie Lewis, a bonus son, Reginald Bosley, a bonus daughter, Frederica Bosley, her 6 grandchildren Clara Mitchell, Nicole Arterberry, Anastasia Murphy, Kortel Arterberry, Krystal Landry (Devonte), and Diamond Arterberry.
