Geneva Adams Pillard

Family graveside services for Geneva Adams Pillard will be at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Greater New Bethel Cemetery, Stemley Drive, Simmesport, LA. Rev. Chris Augustine will be officiating.

Mrs. Pillard, 90, of Simmesport, LA, passed away on May 18, 2020 at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. She was a woman of faith, strength, and character. She raised her child on this value. At the age of 60, she returned to school and obtained a certification to be a caregiver. She continued to cook and feed, visit the sick and help others as long as life allowed. She will be missed by all who know and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Edward Pillard, parents: Antoine & Izola Adams, five children: Dorothy Tolliver, Joseph Pillard, Gilbert Pillard, David Pillard and Michael Pillard, two sisters: Mable Adams Jack and Tonia Adams Simon, six brothers: Joseph, Felton, Horace, Dallas, Leroy and Antoine, Jr., and three grandchildren: Shawn Gilbert, Michael T. Pillard, and David M. Duskin.

Geneva leaves to cherish her memories – daughters: Stephanie Wright (Clayton), Wanda Gilbert (Isiah), and Melanie Moore (George), sons: Hilton Pillard (Brenda), Chester Pillard (Vicenta), and Christopher Adams, brother: Chester Adams, and a grand host of family and friends.
