Gertrude Robinson

Services for Gertrude Robinson will be at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Morning Star Baptist Church, Natchez, LA. Interment will be in Morning Star Church Cemetery.

Gertrude Robinson was 93 years old, and born on August 15, 1927, to the late Lena Cannon Robinson and Joseph Robinson in Natchez, La. She departed her earthly life on July 25, 2021, at the Matthews Memorial Nursing Home Health Care Center.

At an early age, she confessed Christ at the Morning Star Baptist Church, Natchez, La., under the leadership of Rev. John Gaines.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arey Chatman; her daughter Nora Lee Chatman; her son Charles Robinson; her sisters Gussie Ellis, Rachel Lee, Evelena “Tootie” Robinson, and Rosetta Robinson; her brother Joseph Robinson; and her two grandsons Brian Smith and Joseph C. Smith.

Gert, as she was endearingly called, leaves to mourn her son Joseph Smith (Rosa) of Alexandria, La.; her sister Mae Lee Robinson of Natchez, La.; six grandchildren Anthony Robinson (Renee) of Harker Heights, Tx.; Anitra Robinson Adams (Larry) of Baton Rouge, La., Joseph Delry of Natchitoches, La., Joseph Fairley, Jimmy Fairley, and Gertrude Smith all of Alexandria, La.; nineteen great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones.

Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church.
