Glenavern Mackie

Services for Mrs. Glenavern Mackie will be at 11:00a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Refuge Church Apostolic Faith, 3201 Monroe Street, Alexandria, LA. Bishop David Veal will be officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Mrs. Mackie, 83, of Lecompte, LA, passed away on October 13, 2026, at Lexington House Nursing Home. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Pentecostal Church, Oberlin, LA. She went to Lecompte High School and to Grambling State University. She worked at South Central Bell and AT&T for many years, eventually retiring from AT&T. She later worked for Central State Hospital and retired.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Solomon Mackie, mother: Joyce Tanner Williams, father: Clarence Williams, Sr., and brother: Clarence Williams, Jr.

Glenavern leaves to cherish her memories: son/nephew: Bernard Williams, grandchildren: Ashunti Williams, Kennedi Armstead, Trenard Moss, and D”Quavious Moss.

Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. at Refuge Church Apostolic Faith.
