Services for Ida Dean Sampson will be at 11:00am on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Union Baptist Church, 2206 Hardy Street, Lecompte, LA. Pastor Michael Conaler will be officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria National Cemetery, Pineville, LA.
To know her was to love her. She was a very firm person who believed in telling it straight with you. She instilled in her children, respect, love, and most of all education. She loved all her grandchildren dearly.
Ida Dean Sampson was born October 16, 1933 to the late Bertrand and Beatrice Millhouse. She was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Jackson. She attended Rosenwald High School in Lecompte, LA.
She later married Andrew Sampson, Sr. In 1952 and to this union 8 children were born. She worked at Howard Johnson for quite some time.
Ida Dean took her eternal rest on September 9, 2024 to be with her Lord. She is preceded in death by her mother Beatrice Millhouse and father Bertrand Millhouse, daughter Patricia Nelson, grandson Alvin Dontae Leonard, and great grand-daughter Ianna Sampson, great grandson Damion Wilson siblings, Irma Lee Beechem, Rebecca Millhouse, Irene Millhouse, Hattie Millhouse, Johnny Millhouse, Alford Millhouse, Walter Millhouse, Howard Millhouse, and Beatrice Baxter.
Ida leaves to mourn two daughters Andrewnette Sampson Moore and Annie M. Brown (Kenneth), five sons Andrew Sampson, Jr., John E. Sampson, Charles L. Sampson (Kim), Dennis W. Sampson (Evelyn), and Gregory Sampson (Maria), son in law Charlie Nelson, siblings: Helen Polite, Dorothy Green, Tilla Martin (Moleas), and Bertrand Millhouse, grandchildren: Dr. Beonko Sampson, Robert Sampson, Domico Nelson, Stacy Foster (Jamar) Megan Nelson (Duke), Andrea Sampson, Kiara Sampson (Jeremy), Ebony Sampson, Karen Boults, Anetria Davis Rachal (Don), Marquita James, Z’Tonio Foster,Darius Sampson (Jessica), Denise Whitlock (Donterrius), Charles Sampson, Jr. (Calvary), Danielle Sampson, mary Sampson, Ida Sampson, Kathryn Sampson, Gregory Sampson, and Brittany Dawkins along with 38 great grandchildren, a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
