Jacqueline Sykes

For I am now ready, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearance. 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Jacqueline, “Jackie” Delores Sykes was born to the union of Reverend Albert Jerry & Rosa Sykes on June 9, 1961. She was baptized at an early age at Little Mount Zion Baptist Church under the spiritual guidance of the late Reverend Howard Ellis, who was also her godfather.

She later united with the Mt. Pilgrim Rest M. B. C. under the leadership of her father, Reverend Albert Jerry Sykes, Jr. She was educated in the Grant Parish School System, graduated from Grant High School in 1979, being a member of the first graduating class from GHS. She extended her education through the Alexandria Vocational School, where she obtained her LPN degree.

On January 16, 2020, God sent his angels to claim His own while resting at Colfax Reunion Nursing Home, in Colfax, Louisiana.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Reverend Albert & Rosa Sykes, and one brother.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, and eleven grandchildren. A mother of love, five siblings, two godfathers, five god sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
