James Byrd

Services for James “Pete” Byrd will be at 11:00a.m. on November 29, 2025, at Hopewell Baptist Church, Colfax, LA. Rev. Ronald Carnahan will be officiating. Interment will be in Farenzie Cemetery.

Mr. Pete, 71, of Colfax, LA, passed away on November 14, 2025, at his residence. His is preceded in death by his wife: Rutha Byrd; mother: Hazeleen Byrd Burrus; sisters: Ula Mae Burrus, Ella Burrus, and Hazel Burrus; and brother: Delmar Burrus.

Pete leaves to cherish his memories – daughter: Shirley Carnahan, along with 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
