Jimmie R. Tolbert

Services for Jimmie R. Tolbert will be at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Mt. Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Elder Walter Williams will be officiating. Interment will be in Farenzie Cemetery.

Mr. Tolbert, 78, of Colfax, LA, passed away on March 27, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette, LA.

Mr. Tolbert was a graduate of Mary E. Graham, later attending Southern University. Jimmie was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served 4 years. He later joined the US National Guard. Jimmie was employed at the Alexandria VAMC, later transferring to the US Postal Service where he retired.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents: Johnnie and Veada Tolbert.

Jimmie leaves to cherish his memories – wife: Mary Dianna Tolbert, daughter: Talia Tolbert, sons: Derrick Tolbert, Jimmy Tolbert, Jamil Tolbert, and Lonnie Smith, brother: Anderson Tolbert, and sister: Deloris Ransberry, along with 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
