John Cecil Moody, Jr.,66, transitioned from this life on the 27 th day of September

2018 at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in the company of his family.


John Jr. was the “Baby Boy” of John Cecil Moody, Sr. and Elect Steward- Moody born on

September 3, 1952 in Pineville, LA . He was reared in the Melrose Community along the Cane River. John accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and was baptized at St. Matthew B.C. in Melrose, LA. He received his formal education from the Natchitoches Parish School System and was a graduate of the St Matthew High School Class of 1970. Upon graduation John moved to Tacoma, WA to be near his older siblings for a few years but later returned home to Natchitoches Parish. He became gainfully employed with Country Pride Poultry Plant and worked there until he retired after 35 years of service in 2015 under the new company name of Pilgrim’s Pride. John was not a man of many words but he loved his family and made a point to tell them every chance he got. He assisted in the rearing and upbringing of Rometha Johnson from a very young age and was in her life from that point all the way into adulthood as well as her children’s lives. John was affectionally called “Paw-Paw” and greatly loved as a father and grandfather figure by them all.


John “Junior” was preceded in death by his father, John C. Moody, Sr, his mother Elect Steward- Moody, 3 sisters: Daisy Lee Moody-Henderson, Willie “Dee” Moody- Fowler, Clotilda Lee Moody-Phillips and 4 brothers James Johnson, Randolph Johnson, Lonzia Moody, and Eugene Moody. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Rometha Johnson (Sean),grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Aleisha Johnson , Donovan Rachal and Meagan Rachal all of Natchitoches, LA, brother Mangle Moody (Christine) of Spanaway, WA, and Sisters Irene Moody of Tuscan, AZ, Willie Lee Moody-Taylor of Natchitoches, LA, Lessie “Marie” Moody (Randy) of Natchez, LA and Gloria Jean Moody-Beebe (Roy) of New Llano, LA. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
