Kenyatta Collins


Services for Kenyatta Collins will be at 11:00a.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Robinson Family Mortuary, 1815 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA.

Brother Kenyatta Collins, affectionately knowns as “Ken” was born to James Collins, Sr., and Bertha Whitlow Collins, on September 6, 1964, in Newark, New Jersey. Kenyatta departed this life on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Our Lady of the Lake hospital, Baton Rouge, LA, surrounded by loved ones.


As a child, Kenyatta professed his faith and continued to walk in his faith as an active member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It was his custom to fervently study and share his studies with friends and family.


He was a member of the 1983 graduating class of Pineville High School. After graduation, Kenyatta enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his career, Kenyatta was stationed in Germany, Georgia, Kentucky, and Louisiana, retiring after 10 years of service with the rank of Sergeant.

Kenyatta was preceded in death by his father, James Collins, Sr., his mother: Bertha Whitlow Collins, sister: Wiletha “Bonnie” Colins, grandparents: Andrew Whitlow, Jr., Louise Trotter, Sip and Tabitha Collins.


He leaves to cherish his life: brothers: James Collins, Jr., of Houston, TX, Richard Collins, of Lafayette, LA, and sister Tabitha Hines, of Alexandria, LA, maternal grandmother: Ida Whitlow of Tuskegee, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Church family.
