Lee Mack Brown

SERVICES FOR LEE MACK BROWN will be at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church at 10a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, with Rev. Rodney McNeal officiating.


Burial will be in Garden of Memories, under direction of Robinson Family Mortuary.


Mr. LEE MACK BROWN age, 92 of Alexandria, La entered eternal rest on October 27, 2023, at Christus Cabrini Hospital.

Lee Mack Brown, born on August 24, 1931, to George Brown and Vilen Jean Baptiste in Alexandria, LA, lived a life enriched by diverse experiences. He received his education in Rapides Parish and graduated from Peabody High School in 1948. Lee Mack was baptized at an early age and remained a member of Second Bethlehem B.C. His journey took a military path when he joined the United States Marine Corp. He had one daughter, Debra Brown and one brother, Lumas D. Brown, who preceded him in death. On August 29, 1993, he entered into matrimony with Chlorinda Figgins Martin, who also preceded him in death.


In 1955, Lee Mack embarked on a career in barbering after graduating from Katie Barber College in New Orleans. He perfected his skills working alongside his Uncle Milton and his cousin Milton, Jr. at the renowned Baptiste Barber Shop on Lee Street in Alexandria, LA. Following the closure of the Baptiste Barber Shop, he continued his profession at the Central State Hospital as a barber in 1969, dedicating his efforts until his retirement in 1996.


He is Preceded in Death by Mother, Vilen Baptiste, Wife, Chlorinda Figgins Martin, Brother, Lumas Brown, Daughter, Debra Brown.


He is survived by his stepson, George McKinley Martin, Grandchildren, Shannon Brown, Jammie Brown, Meaghn Brown, and, Kanchia Brown.
