Services for Lillie Dell Jones will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Hopewell Baptist Church, Colfax, LA. Pastors Kendall Francois and Ronald Carnahan will be officiating. Interment will be in Raven Camp Cemetery, Colfax, LA.

Mrs. Jones, 86, of Colfax, LA, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Tioga Community Care Center.

Lillie Dell Jones was born November 28, 1937, in Grant Parish, LA. Lillie accepted Christ at an early age, and she attended school in Grant Parish School Systems at Mary E. Graham. She was married to the late Leroy Johnson and to their union was born on daughter Gloria Jean Johnson.

Early in life, she desired to travel and lived for a time in Alameda, CA before returning to live back home in Colfax, because there is no place like home.

She worked and lived in the community of Colfax. She later confessed Christ and reunited in fellowship with the Hopewell Baptist Church under the leader at that time the late Robert Lee Arthur and continued her spiritual fellowship with her present Pastor -Kendall Francois, along with the entire Hopewell Church family. She loved to cook, shop, dress up, and have a good conversation on the phone with her church family, friends, and loved ones.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Delia Jefferson Jones, and Clemon Jones, one sister Dorothy M. Jones, and a special friend Herman Shorts.

Lillie leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter Gloria Jean Johnson of Milton, Florida; four grandchildren Demetrius Johnson, Lakeshia Parmer, Clifton Johnson, and Tamara Hughes, and three great grandchildren and one great grandchild along with a host of cousins and friends.
