Services for Lionel Leo Berry, Jr. will be at 11:00a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Sunrise Cemetery, Woodworth, LA. Rev. Roger Green will be officiating.
Lionel Leo Berry, Jr., son of Amanda Wilson Berry and the late Lionel Leo Berry, Sr., was born August 4, 1978 in Alexandria, LA. At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church by the late Rev. Donny Granvel.
An avid supporter and #1 fan of all things Peabody Magnet High School, Southern University, the New Orleans Saints, Patti LaBelle, Salt-N-Pepper, and Mahalia Jackson, Leo was a 2000 graduate of Ewell S. Aiken Optional School.
Leo passed on August 14, 2022 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice at the age of 44.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Lionel Leo Berry, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Ivory and Julia Wilson; paternal grandparents, Houston, Sr. and Ruby Berry; aunt, Karen Quinney; uncle, Houston Berry, Jr.; and first cousins, Trice Delbridge and Charles Allen, Jr.
He leaves to cherish loving memories to his mother, Amanda Wilson Berry; brother, Dr. Ivory M. Berry; aunts, Linda Berry, Sharon Hathaway (John), Verna Bruins (Johnny), Judy Devins (Raymond), and Joyce Berry; uncles, Allen Wilson, Freddie Wilson (Eva), Anthony Berry (Demetria), and Arnold Berry (Telena); and a host of cousins and friends.
