Family Mortuary 1815 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA. Rev. Carl Armstead will be officiating.

Interment will be in Alexandria National Cemetery on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. Marie Quinney Wilson was born on March 28, 1937 to the late Harvey and Claretha Harris Quinney in Boyce, Louisiana. She attended Peabody High School in Alexandria, Louisiana before marrying her late husband, Sammy Allen Wilson. Marie and Sammy traveled throughout the country and Europe with the United States Army.


Marie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Prior to moving to Leesville, she was a member of the Greater New Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Alfred King, Sr. She loved gospel music and reading her bible.


Marie was employed in various occupations during her lifetime. She was a cook for Herbie K’s restaurant, a nurse’s aide at Wilshire Manor nursing home, and a private housekeeper. Her biggest joy in life was taking care of her children and grandchildren who loved her dearly.


Marie departed this life on Friday, October 12, 2018. She was proceeded in death by her son

Jerome Craig Wilson and siblings: Claretha Quinney Colbert, Cleo Quinney Williams, Ruthie

Joseph, and Johnny Joseph.


She leaves behind many to cherish her memory two children: Jacqueline Marie Wilson-Woods (Darrell), and Evetta Wilson Howard, eight grandchildren: Jewel Marie Wilson, Lisa Marie Wilson, Trinity Woods-Sanders (Peter), Klarissa Dargin, Imani Wilson, Dara Woods, Inia Wilson, and Jamari Wilson, five great-grandchildren: Alicia Marie Gunn, Kelsy Marie Wilson, Gabrielle Marie Gunn, Jasmine Marie Gunn, and Kingston Pipes. Her siblings: Frank C. Joseph and Harvey Quinney, Jr., special friend, Joel Payton, and a host of nieces and nephews.
