Services for Melvin Chapman will be at 11:00am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Faith Baptist Church, 3917 Brown Street, Alexandria, LA. Rev. Cedric Brown will be officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Mr. Chapman passed away on March 24, 2026, at his residence. He is preceded in death by his parents: Betty J. Chapman and Tom Chapman, Jr., grandparents, and daughter Julie Mae Bush.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memories – daughters: Erionna Girtley, Rainna Chapman-Schwartz, and Judy Mae Bush, sons: Wilbert L. Chapman and Melvin L. Chapman, brother: Wilbert Alexander, Marvin L. Chapman, Ronnie Ashley and Rodney Ashley, sisters: Barbara Chapman Eli, Debra Rainey, Sharon Chapman, and Sharon Reeves, grandchildren: Ayce Chapman, Mal’akai Schwartz, and Keylanni Chapman.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am at Faith Baptist Church.
