Services for Paul D. Burks will be at 10:00a.m. on January 8, 2021 at Robinson Family Mortuary, 1815 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA. Father Rick Gremillion will be officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens, Opelousas, LA.

Mr. Burks, 78, of Pineville, LA, passed away on January 1, 2021 at his residence. He was a native of Louisville, KY. He was a graduate of Flaget High School, Veteran of the United States Air Force, and he retired from CLECO, in 2004. Paul was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Cenla Photography Guild, YMCA Black Achievers Program, and he played keyboard with the band IMPROV. He was a longtime member of Inseparable Friends & Benevolent Society of Opelousas, LA.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents: Paul McClaskey Burks and Shelby Berry Burks, brothers: Ronald Burks, Leroy Burks, and Percy Burks.

Paul leaves to cherish his memories – wife of 57 years: Nellie Fuselier Burks, son: Mark D. Burks, Sr. (Monica), brother: David A. Burks, Sr. (Leslie), sisters: Gloria Burks Stephenson, Sylvia Burks Miles (Glenn), and Emily Burks, sisters-in-law: Ann Burks and Sarah Burks, 3 grandchildren: Jazmin Burks, Mark D. Burks, Jr., and Morgan Burks, 3 great grandchildren: Kaydence Burks, Karter Phillips, and Xade Burks, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Viewing will begin at 8:00a.m. with Rosary beginning at 9:15a.m. at Robinson Family Mortuary.
