Roderick C. Thomas

Services for Roderick Charles Thomas will be at 12:00pm on Friday, January 16, 2026, at New Bethel Community Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Plant, Jr. will be officiating.

Mr. Thomas, 53, of Alexandria, LA, passed away on December 31, 2025, at Rapides Regional Medical Center. He graduated from Pineville High School in 1992 and became a licensed Barber.

He attended South LA (SLCC) and obtained his EMT license. He later went on to work at GEO Correctional Facility, then as Security at Jena Choctaw Casino where he retired. He attended New Bethel Community Baptist Church all his life.

Roderick is preceded in death by his mother: Syvilla Collins-Thomas and father: Richard Thomas.

Roderick leaves to cherish his memories – wife: Shawanda Baines-Thomas, daughters: Khadeyah Thomas, Hailee Thomas, and stepdaughter: Alyssa Rubin, sons: Roderick C. Thomas, Jr., Chase Thomas, and Gavin Thomas, grandchildren: Justin Elijah Thomas and Demi Grace Lavalais.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 11a.m. until time of service.
