Services for Gussie Lee Helaire Walker will be at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at AGAPE Love Center, 1515 Texas Street, Natchitoches, LA, Reverend Leo Walker Pastor. Rev. James Below will be officiating. Interment will be in Saint Paul Baptist Church Cemetery, Bermuda, LA.

Mrs. Walker, 93, of Natchitoches, LA, passed away on August 1, 2021, at her home. Gussie was born on July 12, 1928, to the late Felix Helaire and Pearlena Sneed. She confessed Christ at an early age, and she was baptized under the leadership of Reverend Ben Pleasant. She late served under the leadership of Reverend Leo Walker, Sr.

She was married to the late Joe Walker, III and to this union thirteen (13) children were born. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, four children, four brothers and sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memories – four sons: Reverend Charlie Walker, Sr., Joe Walker, III, Harry Walker, Sr., (Sharon) and Silas Walker (Linda), five daughters: Mary Walker Gillie (Melvin), Annie Brownfield, Alice Ware (Billy), Marilyn McVan, and Letha Swafford (Stacy), thirty-eight grandchildren, seventy-three great grandchildren, seventeen great great grandchildren, one sister: Elvia Helaire Davis, three god children: Hattie Smith, Jeffrey Humphrey, and Lakesha Allen, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
