On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, Terrel Helaire transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal life. Terrel Helaire was born on January 24, 1970, to the late Orie Helaire, Sr. and Zettie Johnson-Helaire.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Joe Dupree at First Baptist Church on Amulet Street, he later united with Rev. Brad Holden at First Baptist Church on North Street.
He attended Natchitoches Central High School and graduated in the Class of 1988. Terrel attended Southern University before going on to graduate from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge Louisiana where he majored in Political Science. Terrel was preceded in death by his father Orie Helaire Sr. His maternal grandparents were Teddy Johnson and Zelma Johnson; and his paternal grandparents were Voisan Helaire and Hannah Helaire. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Zettie Johnson-Helaire of Natchitoches, LA. One brother Orie Helaire Jr. (Isabel) of Houston, TX. One sister Persunda Helaire-Raymond (Anthony) of Natchitoches, LA. Two nephews Darian Raymond of Murfreesboro, TN and Jordan Helaire of Houston, TX. Three nieces Madison Raymond of Natchitoches, LA; Sydney Helaire and Sofia Helaire of Houston, TX. Two honorary brothers, Jermel Thomas and Deonte Thomas of Houston, TX. Two honorary sisters Melissa Washington and Tamela Berguin of Natchitoches, LA. One honorary nephew Jaylon Thomas of Natchitoches, LA and a host of beloved Aunts, Uncles, very close cousins, and cherished friends.
