Services for Terri Teneki Payne Black will be at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Jackson Square Cemetery, Natchitoches, LA. Bro. Ambrose Lacaze will be bringing Words of Comfort.
Terri Teneki Payne Black was born November 3, 1977, in Atlanta, GA. She was born to the union of Terry Payne and Cynthia Carter Payne. On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, she departed this life in Baytown, TX.
Terri (known to family and friends as “Neki”) received her education in the Natchitoches Parish School System where she graduated from Natchitoches central High School in May 1996. She was a member of the Powerlifting Team. Neki was active in Girl Scouting (Brownies).
She accepted Christ early in life at Saint Paul Baptist Church, Pastor Sherman H. Bedford, Sr., in San Antonio, Tx. She participated in Sunday School, Children Choir, and Baptist Training Union, (BTU). She was later baptized at Lake Street Church of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Ambrose Lacaze.
Neki was preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia Carter Payne French, father, terry Payne, brother, Johnathon Payne, grandmother, Cora Lee Benjamin, and grandfather, John D. Payne, Sr.
Neki leaves to cherish her memories – two daughters, Terra K. Black and Edahlia L. Payne, grandmothers, Irma L. Payne and Irene Metoyer, grandfather: George Benjamin, step mother, Eva Payne, sister: LaToya Howard (Chris), brother: Remington Payne (Lucy), nieces: Remayah, Hailey, Eva, Ava, and one nephew Aiden, and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
