Services for Thelma Jean Benjamin Duncan will be at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at First Union Baptist Church, 213 Hope Street, Alexandria, LA. Pastor Bobby A. Rhodes, Sr. Interment will be in St. Simon Baptist Church Cemetery, Chopin, LA.

Mrs. Benjamin Duncan, 78, of Alexandria, LA, passed away on September 22, 2025, at her home. Thelma Jean Benjamin was born April 14, 1947, in Chopin, LA, to the late Joe Benjamin, Sr. and Eloise Benjamin.

Thelma is preceded in death by her father: Joe Benjamin, Sr., mother: Eloise Ricks Benjamin, daughter: Tracie Benjamin, brother: Joe Benjamin, Jr., two sisters: Maxine Benjamin and Lavern Nash, and grandson: Donald Lair, Jr.

Thelma leaves to cherish her memories – daughters: Jacquelyn Collier, Wanda Hoover (Edward), Angela Benjamin, Donna Cope (Andrew, Sr.), Rhonda Lair (Donald Paul Lair, Sr.), Cssandra Duncan, and Eloise Groves (Edward, Sr.), sons: Joel Dewayne Duncan and Jason LeRon Duncan (Relisha), along with 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Thelma’s greatest gift was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
