Services for Virginia Ruth (Sloan) Smith will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Spring Bluff Baptist Church, 2314 LA-107, Morrow, LA. Bishop Melvin Jackson will be officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Goudeau, LA.

Mrs. Smith, 95, passed away on December 6, 2025, at Avoyelles Manor Nursing Home, Plaucheville, LA.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Willie Smith, Sr, parents: Joseph Sloan and Alistine (Jackson) Sloan, parents: Nathaniel Carter, Charles Soan, Mellard Sloan, John Sloan, Herbert Sloan, Robert Sloan, and Willie, Sr., daughters: Gloria Deah Rue and Deloris Flagg, sons: Charles Smith, Willie Smith, Jr. and Leroy Smith, grandchildren: DaShawndra Lanette Hall, Donnie Hall, Jr., Montell Smith, Jerome Arceaneaux, and Xavier Latigue, and great grandson: Dwan Anthony Smith.

Mr. Virginia leaves to cherish her memories – daughters: Elizabeth Hall (Donnie), Yvette Christmas (Keith), Jude Arceneaux (Steve), Katherine Thomas (Rodrick), Rita Green (William), sons: Paul Smith, Sr. (Linda) and Michael Smith (Ernesta),
