Wayne Scott

Services for Wayne Scott will be at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Robinson Family Mortuary, 1815 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA.

Wayne Scott, also known as “Danky”, was born to Leon Scott and Amagene Rosa Scott on October 25, 1945 in Alcoa, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Charles M. Hall High School, Class of 1963. After graduation, Wayne enlisted into the United States Air Force at the age of 17, and served for 20 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant with the 23rd Tactical Supply Squadron, located on the England Air Force Base in Alexandria, Louisiana. After retirement, Wayne worked at the VA Medical Center in Pineville, Louisiana over a span of 13 years.

On November 24, 1966, a young Wayne was joined in marriage to his college sweetheart, Shirley Ann Roberson. During this union, four children were born. Wayne understood the critical role that he played as a husband, a father, and as the head of household, so he made sure to lead his family with love, support, and guidance.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Amagene Rosa Scott; brother, Leon Gordon Scott; sister, Leona Jeanette Styles; and son-in-law, James Edward Holiday III.

Wayne took his final breath on September 13, 2023. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, a devoted wife, Shirley Ann Scott; three daughters, Melody Elaine Moji, Wanda Renee Scott, Monica Yvonne Holiday, and one son, Jason Jamaal Scott (Trasintel); one brother, Michael Leroy Scott; ten grandchildren, James Edward Holiday IV (Destany), Jeffrey Wayne Scott, Lea Dineo Moji, Jasmine Danielle Scott, Thabo Victor Moji Jr., Thabang Vincent Moji, Jaelyn Elise Holiday, J’Mari Elias Holiday, Jason Jamaal Scott Jr. and Ainsley Jeanette Scott; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
