Wilbert Hayes

Services for Wilbert Hayes will be at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Rising Star Baptist Church, 624 Mill Street, Oakdale, LA. Pastor Tori Sweet will be officiating. Interment will be in Melder Cemetery, Melder, LA.

Mr. Hayes, 85, of Oakdale, LA, passed away on September 19, 2025, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. Wilbert retired from the Allen Parish School District as a Bus Driver. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was served as the Head Usher for Rising Star Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Julius & Rosa Lee Hayes, and his son: Ken Hayes.

Wilbert leaves to cherish his memories – daughters; Lisa Hayes (Ron), Youlonda Giles, and Erica Julien (Gary) and son: Martin Hayes (Jennifer).

Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. at Rising Star Baptist Church.
