Willie R. Manuel

Mr. Willie R. Manuel was born March 20, 1944, in Alexandria, LA. He was the fourth born to Perry Manuel, Sr. and Alfra Johnson Manuel of Alexandria, LA. He was raised in and baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA.

After graduating high school, he attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. Upon leaving there, he joined the U.S. Army and successfully completed Officer Candidate School and became a ranked Captain. After serving 16 years, he was honorably discharged and went into civilian life.

On Marc 2, 1971, he married Cornelia Ann Barra. To this union, one daughter was born, Kalista Nanette Manuel. To this family was added an adopted son, Carlos Cruikshank.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.

He is survived by his wife Cornelia Ann Manuel, daughter Kalista Rosette (Josh), Carlos Cruikshank and six grandkids; Chartney Manuel (Ronald), Tarri Taylor, Diara Taylor, Audriana Miller, Karlee Miller, Jada Miller, Deuntavius Cruikshank, Cortez Cruikshank, Carmello Cruikshank, and a host of great grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
