Services for Berdia Shorter will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Robinson Family Mortuary, 1815 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA with Rev. Avery Hamilton and Rev. Moses Roland officiating the service. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial cemetery in Ball, LA under the direction of Robinson Family Mortuary.

Mrs. Berdia Shorter, 86, of Pineville passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She retired after 33 years as an elementary school teacher in the Rapides Parish school system.

She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Rev. Sylvester and Earline Valley; sisters Shirley Payne and Jeanette Valley.

Survivors include husband of 62 years Henry Shorter, daughter Cheryl Danzell (Jerome), son Cedric Shorter (Alicia) of Saint Petersburg, FL, sisters Vergie Walker and Linda Valley, both of Pineville. Grandchildren Alyssa Shorter, Cameron Shorter, Joshua Danzell, and Jeremy Danzell; and a host of nieces, nephew, and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 am to time of service at Robinson Family Mortuary, Pineville.
