Derrian Sapp

Services for Derrian Sapp will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Colfax Civic Center in Colfax, La.  Visitation will begin at 9am and continue until the start of service. Burial will be held at Farenzie Cemetery in Colfax.   

Derrian Sapp was born May 30, 1963 to the union of Willie and Beulah Sapp in Pineville, Louisiana.  He passed away February 29, 2024 at St Francis Cabrini Hospital.  

“Sapp” as he was affectionately called attended Mary E. Graham High School and graduated from Grant High School in 1981.

Derrian started his career with the Town of Colfax straight out of high school. He retired in 2019 as the Public Works Director where he was employed for 38 years.

Because of his love for the people in the community, Derrian ran for City Council and was elected Alderman for the Town of Colfax in 2022.

Alderman Derrian Sapp leaves to cherish his precious memories a wife, Whitney Sapp; one son, Abery (Ashley) West; three grandchildren, Brison, Jay and Ava of Colfax, LA; one sister, Lorraine Sapp of Colfax, LA; two brothers, Willie Gene(Nina) Sapp of Lafayette, LA, Elton (Sandra) Sapp of Houston, TX; one stepdaughter, Nashira; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
