Linda Joyce Baker

I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me  a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the right judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.  2 Timothy 4:7-8


Services for Linda Joyce Baker will be at 12:00pm on Saturday. July 20, 2024, at Newman United Methodist Church, 5700 Oran Street, Alexandria, LA. Rev. Sonya Lars will be officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Woodworth, LA.


Linda was born in Pineville, LA, to the late Jewel and Bernice Vaughn on November 10, 1952.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jackie Ray, Jewel Jr, and Fredrick Leo Vaughn.


She was employed many years on England Air Force Base as a cashier at the Service Station and Base Exchange PX. She always worked in retail and some remember her at the Shell Service Station on the Service Road near Newman United Methodist Church.


Linda was married to Jon Michael Baker and to this union three children were born Antonio Baker, Tamika Baker, and Jon Michael Baker, Jr. grandchildren: LeAnne Baker, Keanna Baker, Kaitlyn Bell, Chyna Baker, Lakethion “Dre” Horn Baker, Jon Baker, III, Jhai Taylor,and Akyria Miller, siblings:Addie Marcellus, Amanda Vaughn, Larry Vaughn (Bernice), Marvin Vaughn (Janice), and Brenda Vaughn, sister-cousin:Cynthia Sergent McGinnis, and a host of other relatives and friends.
