On May 8, 1939, Mildred Ford was born in Big Cane, Louisiana, to the late Robert Ford Sr. and Mornetta Jackson Ford. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Annie Mae Joseph, Bula Keegan, Oliver Roy, Doris Peterson, Bertha Burks, Robert Ford Jr., and Alberta Chambers, as well as her grandsons, Nathan Ford and Marquise Clater.

Mildred is survived by her three daughters: Lashaun Ford Wright, Latasha Osho, and Linda Kay Ford Reed; ten grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind three sisters: Eliza Harris, Vera Wells, and Velma Ford, along with a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mildred accepted Christ at an early age and later became a missionary, serving under the leadership of Pastor Alton Sam until her health began to fail. She dedicated 25 years to the military as an Army nurse, retiring in 1989. Shortly thereafter, she moved from El Paso, Texas, to Alexandria, Louisiana.

After several diabetic incidents caused a brain injury that left her unable to live alone, John and Vergie Harris became her caregivers. Mildred departed this world on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in the comfort of her home.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Spring Bluff Baptist Church, located at 272 Spring Bluff Rd., Morrow, LA 71356. Visitation 10:00 A.M. Service time 11:00 A.M.
