Alton was born on February 21, 1953, to the late Elnora Posey Dailey and Alton Dailey, Sr., in Pineville, LA. “Diggy Doo,” as he was passionately called by family and friends, was baptized by the late Rev. Henry Wright, Sr., at Old Zion Baptist Church in Cottonport, LA.

After receiving his education at Carver High School in Bunkie, LA. Alton began his working career in the offshore industry. Later, he relocated to Wharton, TX, embarking upon a career as a construction worker and forklift operator.
