Services for Rev Joe Buckner will be at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 708 University Street, Alexandria, LA 71302 318-445-8355. Pastor Alvie Young Sr., of Live Oak Baptist Church, New Braunfels TX, will be officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories. 

Rev Buckner, 78, of Alexandria, LA, passed away on August 26, 2025, in his home in Marion TX. Joe Buckner was a faithful member of Live Oak Baptist Church until his final days. He loved spending time with his family, hearing the word of God, playing dominos, talking with his children and watching CNN.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rev Joe Buckner and Rosa Buckner and daughter Tracy Buckner.

Visitation will begin on September 6, 2025, at 10:00a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 708 University Street, Alexandria, LA 71302.
