Services for Solomon Mackie, Jr. will be at 11:00a.m. (with viewing from 10am – 11am) on January 4, 2020 at Refuge Church of Our Lord of Apostolic Faith, 3201 Monroe St., Alexandria, LA.
Bishop Terry Winn, Sr. will be officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Mr. Mackie, 76, of Alexandria, LA, departed this life on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Mr. Mackie was born on August 3, 1944 to the union of Rev. Solomon Mackie, Sr. and Mrs. Vicey Thorton Mackie. He was educated in the Rapides Parish school system and attended Peabody High School. On November 19, 1966, he was united in holy matrimony to Glenavern Williams Mackie for over 54 years.
He was preceded in death by both parents, brothers: Eugene Mackie and Henry Mackie, Sr.; sisters: Corine Maltin and Erlene Tomas; special nieces: Annie Marie Goines and Edna Mae Mackie.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife: Glenavern Williams Mackie; godson: Bernard Williams; goddaughters: Lauren Smith Perez and Gloria Berry; nephews: Henry Mackie, Jr., Stephen Seymour, Richard Seymour, Jr.; niece: Bobby Cardwell, and a host of family and friends.
