Virginia Lee Batiste Billups


Services for Virginia Lee Batiste Billups will be at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Robinson Family Mortuary, 1815 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA. Pastor Henry Williams will be officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.


Mrs. Billups, 61, of Alexandria, LA, passed away on December 14, 2020 at her residence. She was the life of the party. She loved to dance, loved to fish, loved volleyball, and loved being with family. She was a great cook and was known for her famous frozen cups and was loved by everyone.


Virginia is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Batiste, Jr. and Josephine Batiste, son: Roosevelt Batiste, two sisters: Robena Batiste and Pearlie Drayton, husband; Ishield Billups, Jr. and companion: Joe Jones.


Virginia leaves to cherish her memories – daughters: Mary Batiste, Doris Moses (Robert), Alice Smith (Dale), and Anita Carter (Tim), sons: Jerry Batiste, Ishield Billups, and Ellis Billups (Kimberly), brothers: Thomas Batiste, Jr. (Brenda), August Batiste (Shaumetria), Joseph Batiste, and Elie Batiste, sisters: Barbara Batiste and Brenda Reed (William, Jr.), 26 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and very special friends.

Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. at Robinson Family Mortuary.


The family would like to express their gratitude to Robinson Family Mortuary for their generosity and their words of comfort during the time of our bereavement. We would like to thank Pastor Henry Williams, Jr. for the words of encouragement. We thank family and friends for their prayers and words of comfort and a special open arm thank you to Mrs. Mary Leach.
